Returns & Refunds

We make every sling to order from the measurements you provide, so most slings are not returnable. Below is our full policy on the situations where a return or refund is possible.

Important: Custom-Cut Goods

Once your fabric is cut to your specifications, the piece cannot be resold or reused. For this reason, custom slings are non-returnable except in the cases listed below.

When We Accept Returns

  1. Manufacturing defect. If your sling arrives with a sewing defect, fabric flaw, or cutting error, contact us within 14 days of delivery with photos. We will repair, remake, or refund the order at our discretion. No charge.
  2. Our measurement error. If we cut your sling to dimensions that don't match the measurements you submitted, we will remake or refund. Please send a photo of your original order confirmation alongside the actual delivered sling.
  3. Wrong fabric or color shipped. If you received a different fabric than the one you ordered, contact us within 14 days for a remake or full refund.
  4. Order cancellation before cutting starts. If you need to cancel, contact us immediately at hello@casualslings.com. If your order is still in "Pending" or "Paid" status (has not moved to "Cutting"), we can issue a full refund. Once cutting begins, the order is no longer cancellable.

When We Cannot Accept Returns

  • The sling does not fit because the measurements you provided were inaccurate. (Please review our measuring guide before ordering.)
  • You changed your mind about fabric, color, or chair type after the order moved to "Cutting."
  • The sling has been installed, used outdoors, washed, or modified.
  • Sun-fading or wear from normal use over time.
  • Damage from improper installation or installation tools (e.g., over-tensioning the spline).
  • Fabric-by-the-yard orders are not returnable once cut from the bolt.

How to Start a Return

  1. Email us at hello@casualslings.com within 14 days of delivery.
  2. Include your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos of the sling and the defect or wrong dimension.
  3. We will respond within 2 business days with next steps. Do not ship the item back until we confirm.
  4. If approved, we will email you a prepaid return label (defects/our errors only — for cancellations the customer covers shipping).
  5. Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days of receiving the returned item.

Damaged in Shipping

If the package arrives visibly damaged, photograph the box and contents before opening, then contact us. We file the carrier claim — you don't need to. We will either remake your order or issue a full refund while we settle with the carrier.

Fabric Warranty

Sunbrella and Phifertex fabrics carry their own multi-year warranties against fading and breakdown. These are honored directly by the fabric mills — we will help you file a claim if needed. Our one-year workmanship warranty (sewing, cutting) is separate; see our Terms of Service for details.
